Description of Services
The Office of Constituent Services is the place to contact when you have a
problem and don't know where to go to solve it. Constituent Services works with
all County departments as well as municipal, state, and federal government
officials to address complaints, solve problems and answer questions of Hudson
County residents.
The Office arranges regular "County Government In Your
Neighborhood" nights in the twelve Hudson County municipalities. These
events bring the County Executive, members of his staff who deal with issues of
community interest, and a host of written materials about County Government
services to local libraries and community centers to address residents' needs,
one evening a month. Done in conjunction with the local mayor's office and
usually attended by that community's mayor or their representatives, "County
Government In Your Neighborhood" allows residents to relate their problems,
get answers or at the very least start the process of getting help without
having to travel to a County Office. Translation services are available, and the
Director records all cases right on the spot on a lap top computer to ensure
that permanent, easily searchable, electronically backed up records are kept for
every case.
